The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious ­­­­­Population Health Analyst to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Cranston, RI. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a virtual position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and analyzing healthcare cost trends to improve member health outcomes and control claims cost for The Hilb Group’s clients.
  • Maintaining a healthcare data analytics platform
  • Managing new client implementations, developing, and editing reports using data visualization software, and preparing data for client presentations.
  • This position functions as a subject matter expert in healthcare claims reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, computer science, information systems, mathematics, finance/economics, or other similar areas of discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in health insurance, data analytics, and/or financial services
  • Health & Life Insurance License preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, and/or other data visualization software
  • Ability to write and use advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP, CONCATENATE, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDEX, MATCH, etc.
  • Ability to create and modify PivotTables
  • Ability to use Power Pivot.
  • Advanced query skills and ability to interpret complex data from multiple data sources and develop findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to learn and master new software, reporting and analytics tools.
  • Ability to think critically, troubleshoot, problem solve, and propose effective solutions to data and report issues.
  • Proven professional who takes initiative, can work without supervision, and begins projects independently.
  • Team player that can effectively collaborate and work with a variety of stakeholders, personalities, and levels of management.
  • Strong analytical and computation skills and familiarity with statistical methodologies and automation techniques for analytic tasks
  • Working knowledge of information systems, databases, report development, data aggregation, extraction, and manipulation techniques, interfaces, and research methods
  • Working knowledge of programming languages. Examples include one or more of the following: VBA, SQL, Python, SAS, R, M, DAX.
  • Willing to consider complex coursework, projects, applicable certifications, and/or technical experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 2-year work experience requirement if tangible examples can be provided to demonstrate the candidate has the technical knowledge and abilities to succeed in this role.
