The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a hybrid position, working 3 days in-office.
Responsibilities:
Associate Relations: Serve as a point of contact for associate inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution while maintaining confidentiality and fostering a positive work environment.
Policy Implementation: Assist in the implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
Benefits Administration: Work closely with the corporate benefit team to support the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and communications.
Performance Management: Provide guidance to managers and associates on performance evaluations, career development, and goal setting.
Compliance: Maintain and update associate records, ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Training and Development: Assist in planning and coordinating training programs to support associates growth and organizational development.
HR Reporting: Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to provide actionable insights to leadership.
Special Projects: Participate in or lead special HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in a generalist capacity.
Strong understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices.
Proficiency in HR software systems (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus but not required.
