The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
Analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to identify trends and variances.
Prepare and distribute financial reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights.
Provide narratives for financial results that effectively describe variances and trends, highlight risks and opportunities, and communicate business insights.
Prepare rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term financial plans.
Update and maintain financial models to reflect changing business conditions.
Collaborate with department heads to gather input and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Identify and investigate significant variances, and work with stakeholders to address issues.
Collect and organize financial data from various sources.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) reporting that generates insights into business performance and unlocks predictive capabilities.
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support decision-making.
Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial analysis and reports from senior management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and management.
Provide strategic and financial analytical support for senior management across the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (master’s degree or CPA is a plus).
Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, financial software).
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and data manipulation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills coupled with experience presenting to senior leadership.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Additionally, prior experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is highly preferred.
