The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Leave Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients with employees initiating or undergoing a FMLA or state leave event.
- Educate clients on their rights & responsibilities under FMLA, state-specific leave laws, employer policies, and related benefits.
- Deliver empathetic, clear, and accessible communication throughout the leave journey.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure fair and timely processing of leave requests.
- Liaise with HR, benefits providers, and leave administrators to facilitate seamless coordination and resolution of issues.
- Stay current on evolving legislation and regulations affecting leave programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Human Resources, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in leave administration, HR, or benefits.
- Knowledge of FMLA and state specific leave laws (e.g. PFML, CFRA, etc.).
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing business environment
- Exceptional telephone demeanor and the ability to communicate complex leave scenarios is a way most non-insurance folks can understand
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
